As part of the Yahoo innovations team, we developed Composer CMS, a frontend tool that allows for the batch creation and rendering of Procedurally Generated Content (PGC) powered by a project called Pegasus.
Pegasus was a PGC pipeline that enabled users to created visually rich and complex content in virtually any format; 3D, 2D, video, or even whole websites.
Composer CMS was designed to provide a clean and intuitive way for various Yahoo teams to interact with Pegasus and publish their content to a CMS, where it can directly be injected into ads and editorial outlets.
Artist would create the template, and all the user needs to do is enter some data or point to an API, and Composer CMS will render a batch of videos each with unique dynamic content driven by the provided data/API.
Pegasus + Composer CMS revolutionized how we created compelling data-driven 3D content for editorial en masse. Using the Composer CMS tool, content creators reduced their deployment times by over 90%.
This powerhouse combination allowed for a whole new category of content at Yahoo!
As a Product Manager for Composer CMS, I was tasked with defining the product's vision, goals, development roadmap, strategy, and release.
This ambitious project had only one frontend developer , 2 QA contributors, while I assumed the role of designer when the original designer's contract ended.
My challenge was to create a robust experience that hides the complexity of Pegasus and allows users to generate thousands of renders in a few clicks, all while providing the user with constant feedback, assuring quality control.
