The Experience

The feature takes viewers inside the reconstruction process for a home destroyed in a deadly Camp Fire in Paradise, Calif.

Putting users in the middle of the story, the experience features a look at the home as it is being rebuilt, family photos, and audio from an interview with the homeowners about their decision to stay in Paradise.

Building the Project

Launched 11/7/2019, this piece was made in 26 days and published on the anniversary of the wildfire.

Recreated faithfully using photogrammetry, photography, and audio interviews, this interactive story allows users to truly empathize with the family.
